Shahpura House is a charming blend of pink and white, a wedding cake Palace and a comfortable family home creating a warm and welcoming ambiance for its guests. Once the palatial residence of the local ruling clan, the house was extensively refurbished in 1956 and opened as a heritage hotel. Family members are still in residence and welcome you to their home.
Conveniently situated off the Jaipur-Delhi highway in, what is now a pleasant residential district, this lovely old building is an interesting mix of the old and the new. Character is imbued by its traditional Mughal architecture of haveli-painted pillars, domes and pavilions married to the required modern facilities.
Rooms are spacious, elegant and comfortably furnished, many as they were when used by their royal owners – but updated! Great attention has been paid to detail, and the whole hotel is beautifully maintained.
Known originally for its excellent Rajasthani cuisine, comments from the guest book frequently praise the wonderful food, and local dignitaries will frequently join guests in the dining rooms.
Extra highlights offered for your stay are the desert expedition by car and camel – 8hrs with a picnic stop, or a 5 hour city tour in the Royal Horse carriage.
